Abstrak

The objective of the research was to find out whether the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) can improve students’ reading skill. Besides, it was to determine students’ activity in learning English by applying the Directed Reading Thinking activity. The method of this research was Classrom Action Research by using Kurt Lewins’s model. The researches used 2 cycles. Subject of the research in class XI A1 at MAN 1 Bone. The instrument of the research were test and observation cheklist. This research shows that there were an improvement of the students’ mean score from pre-test to cycle 1 by 15,6%, and 27,3% improvement of the students’ mean score from pre-test to cycle 2. Observation results show that the Diskursus Mulry Reprecentacy learning model can also improve students’ activeness in learning through discussion in groups. So, it can be concluded that the Diskursus Multy Reprecentacy can improve th speaking skill and activeness of students’ in class XI A 1 at MAN 1 Bone.
