Abstrak

This research was conducted for approximately 4 (four) months starting in August 2018 until December 2018 in Bone State Fisheries Business School (SUPM) in class II-B of the Department of Fisheries Cultivation Technology, with the aim to find out the extent of students’ ability to understand, know, and master the subject matter to control fish diseases, using cooperative teaching methods type “Jig Saw”. The research was carried out in 3 action cycles. Data collection techniques used were observation through student activities during the learning process, cognitive and psychomotor test results of students, at the end of each action cycle. Data obtained from observations were analyzed qualitatively to get a picture of students’ attitudes toward learning methods applied, student activities following lessons, attention, enthusiasm in learning, learning motivation and the like. While the learning outcomes data are analyzed descriptively, which determines the average value, the lowest value, and the highest value. The results showed that by applying cooperative learning type “Jig Saw” on the material to prevent fish disease chemically, students of Class II-B Departement of Fisheries Cultivation Technology, Middle Fisheries Business School (SUPM) Bone State Academic Year 2018-2019, first could improve the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes, both student learning activities can be improved to master the subject matter, and thirdly the achievement of student competencies (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective) can be improved.
